How to Make Only Up! Interactive on TikTok LIVE
To make Only Up! interactive, run a bridge that installs a UE4SS mod into the game, then map TikTok gifts to actions on a dashboard and connect. Viewers' gifts then trigger super jumps, ragdolls, reversed controls and more while you climb.
What an interactive Only Up! stream looks like
Only Up! is already a game where one mistake costs you minutes of climbing. That makes it a natural fit for a LIVE where the audience decides whether you get help or get wrecked. A gift lands, something happens on screen within moments, and chat reacts to it.
With the TikPlays mod, there are 30 viewer actions in total. Fifteen help you (moon gravity, a parachute, a platform under your feet) and fifteen troll you (a ragdoll, a blackout, reversed controls, an ice floor). The tagline says it well: one climb, no checkpoints, and chat decides how it goes.
What you need before you start
You need Only Up! installed on the PC you stream from, a TikTok account that can go LIVE, and a TikPlays account with your dashboard open. TikTok sets its own requirements for going LIVE, and they vary by region and account, so check your LIVE settings in the TikTok app rather than trusting a number from a blog post.
You also need a way to show the game to your audience. TikPlays works alongside TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS, so use whichever you already stream with. There is no port forwarding to set up.
- Only Up! installed on your PC
- A TikTok account that can go LIVE
- A TikPlays account and your dashboard API key
- TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS to capture the game
Step-by-step setup
The whole setup is three steps. The only part that touches your game files is the bridge, and it does that for you.
- Run the TikPlays Only Up bridge and paste in your dashboard API key. The bridge installs UE4SS and the mod into the game itself, so you do not copy files by hand.
- Start Only Up! and press Play. The mod loads with the game and waits for events.
- On the TikPlays dashboard, map your gifts, follows, shares, likes and joins to actions, then pick Only Up! when you Connect.
Only Up! is an Unreal Engine 5.1 climber built on the Advanced Locomotion System, so the ragdoll, the first-person view and the movement you see are the game's own. The mod calls into them rather than faking an effect on top, which is why a ragdoll looks like a real fall.
Decide what each gift does
The mapping is where the stream is won or lost. If every gift is a troll, viewers feel punished for supporting you and the room goes quiet. If every gift helps, there is no tension and nothing to watch.
A mix works better. Give small, frequent gifts light effects, like a speed boost or a brief slow walk, so chat can keep things moving. Save the dramatic ones (blackout, drop down the tower, the reset countdown) for bigger gifts so they feel like an event when they land.
- Put one or two help actions on cheap gifts so new viewers see an instant payoff.
- Keep disorienting effects, like spinning the camera or reversing controls, off the very cheapest gifts so you are not in constant chaos.
- Map follows, shares and likes to gentle help actions. They reward people who cannot send a gift.
- Do not map the same action to many gifts. Variety is what keeps chat guessing.

All 30 actions viewers can trigger
Here is the full list the mod supports. Every one can be mapped to a gift, and several can be mapped to follows, shares, likes or joins.
The foothold trail and why it matters
Only Up! has no checkpoints, so a mod that sends you somewhere safe needs somewhere safe to send you. The mod keeps its own trail of footholds as you climb. Back to your best spot, rewind and the safety net all take you to that trail, and drop-down sends you back along it.
In practice this means a big fall does not have to end the run when chat pays to undo it. It also means a troll like drop-down is a real threat rather than a death sentence, because you land on ground you already earned.
The reset countdown is the best mechanic
The reset countdown starts a sixty-second timer that sends you back to the very start of the tower unless chat pays to stop it. The save gift cancels it. Nothing else in the list creates the same pressure.
Chat splits into two camps almost immediately: the people who want to watch you lose everything, and the people racing to save you. Put the countdown on a larger gift and the save on a gift that is easy to reach, and you get a minute of real drama from a single event.
Say out loud what is happening when it starts. Viewers who just joined need to hear that the timer is real and that a gift ends it.
Make it watchable, not just playable
Viewers need to see what their gifts did. Add overlays such as goal bars, a top-gifter board and a chat overlay as browser sources in TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS. They are links you paste in, nothing more.
Narrate every action as it fires. A ragdoll with no commentary looks like a bug, and the same ragdoll with you shouting the gifter's name looks like a show. If you want help with that, the Windows desktop app can read gifts and chat aloud and run an AI co-host.

Test before you go LIVE
Run the game with the dashboard connected before you announce the stream. Trigger each action you mapped and watch it happen so you know what a gift will do to your climb. It takes a few minutes and saves you finding out on air that your favorite gift does nothing.
Check that you picked Only Up! when you connected, since the dashboard routes events to whichever game is selected. If an action does nothing, confirm the game is running and past the menu, then reconnect.
