Getting Over It on TikTok LIVE: gift ideas and what viewers can trigger
With the TikPlays mod, viewers can spend gifts on 20 Getting Over It actions: ten that help the climb and ten that wreck it. The trick is mapping cheap gifts to small annoyances and big gifts to the dramatic stuff, so chat always has something to do.
What viewers can actually do to your run
Getting Over It is already a game about one bad mistake undoing an hour of progress. A TikTok LIVE audience that can reach into the run makes that worse, and better, in ways the base game never allowed.
With the TikPlays mod, the game polls for whatever your viewers have just bought, and each action runs through the game's own systems. The save-state system moves the pot and hammer for rescues, joint motors are the arms, hammer friction is the grip, and gravity is gravity. Nothing is hooked at the OS level and no memory is poked.
The full list of actions
There are 20 actions in total, split evenly between helping and harming. Here is the live list straight from the game, so you can pick what fits your audience.
Map cheap gifts to small, funny effects
Your cheapest gifts will be sent most often, so they should trigger things that are annoying but not run-ending. Short hammer, noodle arms, reversed mouse and butter hammer all change how you play for a while without moving you backward. Chat sees an instant reaction on screen, which is what makes a small gift feel worth sending.
Put a couple of helpful ones in the cheap tier too, such as slow motion, moon gravity or grippy hammer. If every cheap gift is a punishment, viewers learn that gifting only hurts you, and the mood turns sour. A mix keeps it feeling like a game instead of a hazing.
Keep the run-ruining actions for big gifts
Bump, yeet and time machine are the ones that cost you real progress. Time machine drops you to the lowest spot of the last few minutes, and yeet sends you in a random direction. Put them on your expensive gifts, where the moment of dread is part of the show.
Blackout and upside down are dramatic without necessarily losing ground, so they sit nicely in the middle. The screen going dark with one small spotlight is a great clip. Flipping the whole view is better still when you are on a hard section and chat knows it.
Make the rescues worth buying
Rescues are what turn a rage moment into a story. Back to your best returns you to the highest spot you rested on, and safety net undoes any big fall for a while. Hand of god lifts you straight up, and tailwind pushes you up the route.
Price these above the cheap annoyances, because they are the payoff. A viewer who watched you fall down the mountain has a clear reason to spend on the thing that fixes it. Cleanse is the best counter in the game, since it clears every troll at once.
Combos that make good content
Some pairings just work. Heavy gravity plus noodle arms turns a simple swing into a fight. Butter hammer with reversed mouse is close to unplayable, and chat will love watching you cope. On the kind side, zero-g hover with tailwind lets you float over a section that has beaten you for ten minutes.
Try setting up a mini storyline. Let chat pile on trolls until you are barely moving, then have one big gifter cleanse everything. The swing from chaos to relief is the part viewers remember, and it gives gifters a reason to compete.
- Heavy gravity + noodle arms: every swing feels like lifting a car
- Butter hammer + reversed mouse: chaos, best saved for a flat section
- Zero-g hover + tailwind: a gentle way to skip a brutal obstacle
- Blackout + short hammer: a tense climb in the dark
- Safety net + yeet: a gamble that is safer than it sounds
Pace the gifts so you can still play
If every gift stacks a new effect, you will spend the stream fighting your controls instead of climbing. Decide which effects you are willing to have active together, and keep at least one cheap helpful gift so chat can bail you out.
Watch your own tolerance. Reversed mouse and upside down together are fine for a clip, but they are exhausting for a full session. If a stream gets too chaotic, remap the worst offenders to higher gifts rather than removing them. The gift calculator can help you see what different gifts are worth before you set tiers.
