How Beat the Streamer works on a LIVE
Beat the Streamer is a 1-v-1 brawl that runs as an OBS overlay. Every viewer who joins or gifts becomes a stick fighter in a queue, and the front of the queue steps into the ring against you. Their gifts damage your health, and you counter-attack automatically, so you never have to touch a controller.
A challenger has to finish you before they get knocked out. If they fail, the next fighter steps up against a tougher streamer. That loop is what makes gift mapping matter: the mapping decides how fast a fight ends and how much a single gift feels worth.
The three gift tiers: punch, kick, special
You map gifts to three tiers. Punch is the light hit, kick is the mid hit and special is the big finisher. By default they are worth 8, 22 and 60 damage, and you set the health values yourself, so you can tune how many gifts it takes to drop you.
Think of the tiers as a ladder. Anyone should be able to climb the first rung without thinking, and the top rung should feel like an event when it lands.
Which gifts go on which tier
The rule that works best: the tier should match how the gift feels to send, not just its coin price. Your most common, cheapest gift belongs on punch, because that is what keeps the ring busy all stream long.
Put a mid-priced gift on kick, and reserve special for one or two of your largest gifts. If a special can be triggered by a gift half your audience sends, it stops feeling special.
- Punch: your cheapest, most-sent gift. Aim for constant small hits.
- Kick: a gift a regular viewer sends when they want to make a moment.
- Special: one or two of your biggest gifts, so it lands rarely and loudly.
- Check the real coin value of each gift in the TikTok gift panel before you assign it, since prices vary by region.
Pacing cheap gifts against big ones
Do the rough math before you go live. If your health bar takes about 100 damage to empty, that is a dozen or so punches at the default value, or about five kicks, or two specials. Decide whether you want a typical fight to last thirty seconds or several minutes, then set health to match.
A good pace is one where cheap gifts alone can win a fight if a crowd pulls together, but a single special can swing it. That gives small gifters a reason to keep sending, and big gifters a visible payoff.
If challengers win too fast, raise your health. If nobody ever gets a fight going, lower it or slide a gift down a tier. Adjust between rounds rather than mid-fight, so it never feels rigged.
Helpful versus harmful: what non-gifters can do
Not every viewer has to send a gift to matter. Beat the Streamer also reacts to follows, shares, likes and people joining the stream, and these are the free ways to nudge the fight. Below is the full list of what viewers can trigger and the default damage for each.
Because the free actions do small damage, they work as a warm-up. New arrivals chip away at you while the gifters decide when to step in with something heavier.
Keep free triggers from taking over
Follows do 8 damage and shares do 6, which is about the same as a default punch. On a busy stream that adds up fast, so watch the first few fights and see whether free actions are doing most of the work. If they are, gifts feel pointless.
Likes are worth 1 damage per 100 likes and are off by default. Leave them off unless your streams are quiet, since likes can pile up in bursts. Joining the stream is worth 3 damage, which is small enough to leave alone.
Fun combos and moments to try
Combos come from timing rather than from special rules. The trick is to give your chat something to aim for, and to say it out loud so people coordinate.
These ideas work with the tiers as they already exist:
- Punch spam: challenge chat to land ten punches in ten seconds and read the numbers out as they hit.
- Kick finisher: ask viewers to chip you down with punches, then save one kick for the last sliver of health.
- Special on a comeback: when the queue is about to lose, a single special can turn the fight and gets a big reaction.
- Follow rush: announce that a follow goal drops your health, then tell people to follow together.
- Share round: ask viewers to share for a round, since shares hit for 6 each.
Name the current challenger aloud whenever you can. It makes the queue feel personal and gives that viewer a reason to stay.
