The Plan on TikTok LIVE: Gift Ideas and What Viewers Can Trigger

The Plan is a three-minute game about a fly climbing toward the light, and on TikTok LIVE every gift can become a gust of wind that helps it or wrecks it. Map cheap gifts to small nudges, big gifts to dramatic swings, and keep one gift that undoes the chaos.

Why The Plan works as a gift game

A run lasts about three minutes, so viewers see the result of what they send almost right away. A gift that sends the fly plummeting is funny for a few seconds. A gift that rescues it right after is a small victory for the sender.

There is also no wasted screen time. The fly is always moving, and every effect is a visible change in how it flies: wind, spin, drag, lost control. Viewers don't need the game explained, because they can see what their gift did.

What viewers can trigger

The Plan has 20 actions, split evenly into 10 that help the fly and 10 that trouble it. The full list is below, with the exact names you will see on the dashboard.

You don't have to use all 20. Many streamers start with four or five on each side and add more once they know what their chat likes.

Map gifts by size: cheap gifts get small effects

The simplest rule is that the effect should feel as big as the gift looks. A tiny gift that ruins the whole run feels unfair, and a huge gift that barely does anything feels like a waste. Check the coin value of each gift in TikTok's own gift panel, because gifts and values vary by region and change over time.

Here is a starting layout for the cheapest tier, the gifts you will see dozens of times an hour:

Keep these effects short and readable. If a cheap gift is sent ten times in a row, the stream should look busy, not broken.

Mid-tier gifts: the effects people notice

Mid-priced gifts are where a viewer wants to see a clear moment. Give these the actions that visibly change the run, but not the ones that end it.

Good picks for the middle tier:

Mixing helpful and harmful effects across the middle tier keeps chat arguing about whether to save the fly or drop it. That argument is what keeps people sending.

Big gifts: the swing moments

Your largest gifts should create the moments you would want in a highlight. For the troll side, Plummet, Swat!, Lose control and Violent turbulence (the Turbulence action) are the loudest. For the help side, Guiding light pulls the fly back toward the light, and Second wind clears every troll effect at once.

Be careful about putting a pure disaster on your biggest gift. A viewer who spends the most should be able to choose, so it helps to offer one big help and one big troll. Second wind is a natural premium gift because it rewards the person who sends it with a clean reset, and it gives the rest of chat a reason to cheer.

Pacing the stream: cheap versus big

Think in waves. Cheap gifts fill the quiet moments with small nudges, mid-tier gifts shape each run, and big gifts decide how a run ends. If every tier does the same kind of thing, the stream flattens out.

A balance that tends to hold attention is a little more help than harm at the cheap end, even odds in the middle, and one clear extreme on each side at the top. That way the fly usually makes progress, but a big gift can still flip the outcome.

Watch the first ten minutes before you adjust. If chat only trolls, add a cheaper help action so rescuing feels easy. If nobody trolls, move a mild troll effect down to your cheapest gift.

Fun combos to try

The best moments come from gifts that interact. Chat will start building these on its own once they notice them.

A few that work well:

Name the combos out loud on stream. Viewers like having something to try, and a named combo gets repeated.

Follows, likes, shares and joins

You aren't limited to gifts. Follows, likes, shares and viewers joining the live can be mapped to any action too. A join that sends a little updraft is a classic, because every new viewer gets to help the fly the moment they arrive.

Follows are a good fit for a modest help effect like Tailwind. Shares can trigger something a little bigger, since a share brings in new viewers. Keep troll effects off joins and likes, because those happen constantly and newcomers should feel welcomed.

Setting it up with TikPlays

TikPlays turns your TikTok LIVE into a game your viewers play, and The Plan is one of 47 interactives in a single subscription. A small bridge connects the free game on Steam to your live and plays whatever your viewers have just bought. The game has no mod loader, so the bridge installs a tiny mod into it and can take it back out later. There is no port forwarding involved.

Setup takes three steps. It works alongside TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS, and you can add overlays as browser source links.

  1. Run the TikPlays The Plan bridge and paste in your dashboard API key.
  2. Start The Plan on Steam. The bridge installs its mod and finds the game by itself. The first install needs one game restart.
  3. Map gifts, follows, likes, shares and joins to actions on the dashboard, then pick The Plan when you Connect.

If you want to compare it with other options before committing, you can browse everything on the games page. TikPlays is not affiliated with TikTok or Krillbite.

Frequently asked questions

Which gifts should I map first in The Plan?
Start small: map your cheapest gifts to Updraft and Headwind, a mid-tier gift to Soar and another to Dizzy spin, and your biggest gifts to Second wind and Plummet. That gives you help and trouble at every level. Adjust after the first stream based on what your chat actually sends.
How many actions does The Plan have?
There are 20 actions: 10 that help the fly and 10 that trouble it. The help side includes Updraft, Soar, Tailwind and Second wind. The troll side includes Downdraft, Plummet, Headwind and Swat!.
Can follows, likes and shares trigger actions too?
Yes. Follows, likes, shares and viewers joining the live can be mapped to any action. A small Updraft on each join is a popular choice.
Does Second wind really clear every troll effect?
Yes, it is described as a second wind that clears every troll effect at once. That makes it a good premium gift, or a reward for a viewer who wants to rescue the run after chat has piled on.
Do I need to buy the game or set up a server?
The Plan is a free game on Steam from Krillbite. You don't need your own server or port forwarding, because the TikPlays bridge installs a small mod into the game and connects it to your dashboard. Check TikTok's own LIVE settings for what your account needs to go live, since that varies by region and account.
