BO3 Zombies on TikTok LIVE: gift ideas and what viewers can trigger
Map cheap gifts to small, funny effects, mid gifts to real swings like a Pack-a-Punch or a boss, and your biggest gift to a nuke or a full perk strip. Keep helpful and harmful effects roughly balanced so the match stays alive and the chat keeps sending.
Start with the tiers, not the list
Before you pick a single effect, split your gifts into three tiers. Cheap gifts fire constantly, so they must be effects you can live with 50 times an hour. Mid gifts should change the next minute of the match. Big gifts should be the moment everyone clips.
If you map a nuke to a rose, chat will spam it and the round means nothing. If you map a one-second nuisance to your most expensive gift, the sender feels cheated. Match the size of the effect to the size of the gift and most other choices get easy.
- Cheap gifts: small nudges that last a few seconds
- Mid gifts: timed buffs, timed debuffs, single weapon or perk changes
- Big gifts: round-changing or run-changing effects
- One gift for a wildcard, so chat has a gamble to chase
Cheap gifts: short, funny, never run-ending
The cheapest tier is for effects that are annoying or lucky for a few seconds and then gone. Blackout blacks the screen for 5 seconds, Freeze locks you in place for 5, and Guns Jammed stops you shooting for 5. They are loud on stream and you recover almost immediately.
On the helpful side, a Max Ammo or a Free Perk bottle works well at this level because chat feels like they gave you a small gift back. Earthquake, which shakes the screen for 10 seconds, is another good pick because it reads well on camera without killing you.
Avoid putting One HP, Take All Perks or Steal Points here. They are cheap to trigger and expensive to survive, and a busy chat can stack them in seconds.
Mid gifts: the effects that change the next minute
This is where most of the fun lives. Pack-a-Punch, Random Perk, Double Points, Insta-Kill and Speed Boost all feel great to receive and give chat a clear reason to send something a little bigger.
Put the mean-but-fair effects here too: Drunk Mode for 15 seconds, No Sprint for 20, Slow Motion, Hide HUD, and Crazy Zombies, which makes the horde sprint for 30 seconds. Each one changes how you play without deleting your run.
A good test is whether you can still win the round while it is active. If you can, it belongs in the mid tier. If you have to just survive it, move it up.
Big gifts: nukes, bosses and full resets
Reserve your top gifts for effects that are impossible to miss. On the helpful side that is Nuke, All Perks, Pack Everything, Wonder Weapon and Skip Rounds. On the harmful side it is Spawn Boss, Hellhounds, Take All Perks, Spawn Megaton and Teleport into the middle of a horde.
Boss and hellhound gifts are the best harmful big gifts because they are dramatic without being unfair. You get a fight, the sender gets the reaction, and the whole chat watches. Steal Points and Take Their Gun sit right next to them if you want a sharper edge.
One rule that keeps things fair: never make your best helpful effect cheaper than your worst harmful one. Chat will notice, and it also makes rescuing yourself feel free.
Balance helpful and harmful effects
BO3 Zombies has twenty effects that help and twenty that do not, and a good setup uses both. If everything is harmful, you die by round 8 and the stream ends. If everything is helpful, you are a god and chat gets bored.
A simple split is roughly half and half, with the harmful ones slightly cheaper so they show up more often early. Then keep a couple of pure rescue gifts, like Revive & Heal and Godmode, at a price chat can reach when you are down. That gives viewers a way to be the hero after someone else has been the villain.
You also set how big each effect hits, so if Steal Points or One HP feels too brutal, turn it down rather than deleting it.
Combos that make chat compete
The best moments come from two gifts landing close together. Chat figures these out on their own once they see one, and they start coordinating.
A few that work well on this effect list:
- Slow Zombies then Zombie Horde: a huge but walking crowd, ideal for a kill farm
- Double Points plus Kill Aura: points pour in while zombies die at your feet
- Freeze then Hellhounds: the classic betrayal
- Take All Perks then Spawn Boss: brutal, and the comeback is the content
- Insta-Kill plus Crazy Zombies: a sprinting horde you can actually handle
- Blackout then Teleport: you have no idea where you are
Announce the combos out loud on stream. Once chat knows Freeze followed by Hellhounds is a thing, it becomes a running joke they will try to time.
Running it with TikPlays
TikPlays turns a TikTok LIVE into a game the viewers play, and BO3 Zombies is one of the 32 interactives in a single subscription. It runs on the plain Steam version of Black Ops III with no client mods. You map gifts to effects on the dashboard, and each gift triggers its action in real time.
Setup is three steps: install the BO3 bridge from the desktop app's Game mods screen, start the game and click Run bridge once you reach the main menu, then map your gifts and start a Zombies match. There is nothing to copy into the game folder and no port forwarding.
The full list of what viewers can trigger is below. It is 42 actions, including a Spin the Wheel gift that lands on any of the effects, which makes a good gamble gift for the middle of your tiers.
Pick gifts you can actually price
Which gifts you use matters as much as which effects. Check your own gift menu, since availability varies by region and account, and pick gifts your audience really sends rather than the ones that look nice on paper.
If you want a rough sense of what your gifts are worth to you before you assign tiers, the free gift and earnings calculator is a quick way to check. Then fill in the tiers above from cheapest to most expensive and adjust after your first stream.
