Gift Tower is an on-screen tower that grows when your viewers send gifts. A gift stacks another floor, a bigger gift stacks more, and one special gift swings a wrecking ball that removes floors. Viewers see their gift change the screen within moments, which is the whole hook.
It works because the goal is instantly readable. A new viewer who joins mid-stream understands it in about two seconds: the tower is tall, or it is short, and gifts move it. You do not need to explain rules or run a tutorial.
What you need before you start
This is a light setup. There is no game to install and no server to rent, because Gift Tower is an overlay that runs inside your streaming software.
- A TikTok account that can go LIVE. Requirements such as follower minimums vary by region and account, so check your own LIVE settings in TikTok.
- OBS or TikTok LIVE Studio on your PC.

Step-by-step setup
Here is the full path from nothing to a working tower. Do it once before you go live, then leave it alone.
- Open your TikPlays dashboard and find the Gift Tower overlay URL.
- In OBS, add a new Browser source and paste that URL in. Size it to fit your scene, and a tall narrow area on one side usually works well since the tower grows upward.
- Back on the dashboard, map your gifts to block tiers. Each mapped gift becomes a Block, a Golden Block or a Wrecking Ball.
- Set a target height, which is the number of floors that counts as a finished tower.
- Go live on TikTok and send yourself a test gift from a second account or a friend to confirm floors appear.
No port forwarding is involved. The overlay is just a link that OBS loads, so there is nothing to open on your router.
Choose which gifts build and which destroy
Gift Tower ships unmapped on purpose. Nobody's tower starts collapsing until you decide which gift does that, so you stay in control of the feel of the game.
There are three gift tiers to map. A Block is worth 1 floor by default, a Golden Block is worth 3 floors, and the Wrecking Ball takes floors off and is worth 2 by default. Pick gifts you already see often for Blocks, so the tower grows steadily. Put a mid-priced gift on Golden Block for a satisfying jump.
- Cheap, common gifts: Block, so small supporters still move the tower.
- A gift that feels special: Golden Block, for a big visible jump.
- One distinct gift you want viewers to argue about: Wrecking Ball.
Keep the Wrecking Ball on something that is not your cheapest gift. If it is too easy to send, the tower never gets tall and the build-up loses its payoff.

Use follows, shares, likes and joins too
Gifts are not the only trigger. A follow is worth 1 floor and a share is worth 1 floor, so viewers who are not sending gifts can still take part. This matters for small streams, where free actions are most of what you get.
Likes can also add floors, at 1 floor per 200 likes, and joining the stream can add a floor too. Both are off by default, so switch them on only if you want them. Likes work well for busy streams, while join floors can make a quiet room feel alive when people trickle in.
Set a target height that fits your audience
The target height decides how often your viewers get a win. Set it too high and a small chat never sees a finished tower. Set it too low and the tower is done in a minute.
A useful rule is to pick a height your average stream could plausibly reach in one session, then adjust after a stream or two. If you reach it in the first few minutes, raise it. If you never get close, lower it. Tell viewers the target out loud so they know what they are building toward.
Run it live so chat keeps playing
Say what the tower is doing every time it changes. Call out the person who sent the Golden Block, and react when the wrecking ball takes a big chunk off. That reaction is what makes the next gift worth sending.
Give the game a small story. Run a build versus wreck fight, where one side of chat pushes the tower up and another side tries to knock it down. A finished tower can also be a milestone, such as a shoutout, a challenge or a giveaway for everyone who helped.
