How to Make Five Nights at Freddy's Interactive on TikTok LIVE

To make Five Nights at Freddy's interactive, you connect your TikTok LIVE to the running game and map gifts to in-game actions like draining power or sending Bonnie to the door. With TikPlays that takes a bridge app, an API key and a gift map, and nothing gets installed into the game.

What interactive FNAF actually looks like

In a normal FNAF stream, chat watches you sweat. In an interactive one, chat is the second player. A viewer sends a gift and the game reacts a few seconds later: the power meter drops, Foxy peeks out of Pirate Cove, or the clock jumps an hour closer to 6 AM.

The best part of FNAF for this is that the game is already about managing threats under pressure. Viewers do not need to add a new mechanic. They just push the pressure up or take it off, and you respond the way you always would: check the lights, shut the door, watch the cameras.

What you need before you start

The list is short. The only real decision is whether you can already go live, because TikTok sets LIVE requirements that vary by region and account. Check your own LIVE settings in TikTok rather than trusting a number from a random blog post.

There is no port forwarding and no mod loader to hunt down. FNAF has no mod loader anyway, so the TikPlays bridge works differently from a typical mod and nothing is installed into the game.

Step-by-step setup

Do this once before your first stream, and do a dry run with no audience so you are not debugging live.

  1. Run the TikPlays FNAF 1 bridge and paste in your dashboard API key.
  2. Start Five Nights at Freddy's and play a night. The bridge finds the game by itself, so there is nothing to point it at.
  3. On the TikPlays dashboard, map gifts to actions. You can also map follows, likes, shares and viewers joining the live.
  4. Pick FNAF 1 when you Connect on the dashboard.
  5. Add your video source in TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS, then go live and send yourself a test gift from a second account to confirm the action fires.

If the bridge is running but nothing happens, the usual cause is that no night is in progress yet. Start a night first, then test again.

How the bridge controls the game

Because there is nothing to inject, the bridge plays every action straight into the running game's own state. That means the power meter, where Bonnie, Chica and Freddy stand on the camera map and how active they are, Foxy's stage in Pirate Cove, the clock and the monitor.

This matters for fairness. Every troll is the game's own threat, so it can be beaten the game's way. Bonnie in the doorway is answered with the light and the door. Foxy sprinting down the west hall is answered by shutting that door in time. Viewers never trigger something you have no counter for, which keeps chat from feeling like it is cheating.

Choose your gift map: help versus troll

There are 25 actions in total. Ten help the guard, and the rest troll him, plus a few night-control actions. The split is the most important design choice you will make, so decide it before you map anything.

A good starting layout is to put the cheap, common gifts on small trolls like Foxy peeks out or Power leak, and keep the nastier ones such as Enrage everyone, Drain the power and Drop the monitor on bigger gifts. Put the help actions on a different set of gifts so chat can rescue you when they feel like it.

Keep Jumpscare (game over) on your most expensive gift or leave it unmapped. It ends your night on the spot, and you want that to feel like an event, not a Tuesday.

Balance it so the stream stays watchable

The failure mode of interactive FNAF is a night that ends in ninety seconds because a few gifts stacked. Nobody enjoys watching that, including the gifters.

A few rules keep it fun:

If you are unsure how your gift prices line up, the free gift and earnings calculator is a quick way to compare what different gifts are worth before you assign them.

Run a night like a show

Tell chat the rules in your first ten seconds and again every few minutes, because people arrive mid-night. Something like: small gifts mess with me, bigger gifts make it worse, and one gift can save me.

Narrate your reactions. When Foxy runs, say so out loud. Viewers who just gifted want to hear that it worked, and viewers who did not will understand what they are watching.

Treat each night as a story arc. Early nights can be mostly small trolls, and by night five the power budget should feel tight. If you want to move things along, the night-skip and go-back actions let chat nudge the schedule, though only nights one to five apply.

Add overlays and the rest of your setup

Interactive streams are easier to follow when the screen explains itself. A goal bar, a top-gifter list and a chat overlay all help new viewers understand who is driving the chaos. TikPlays overlays are links you paste into OBS or TikTok LIVE Studio as a browser source.

The Windows desktop app can also read gifts and chat aloud, which fills dead air during a quiet night. Sound alerts and an AI co-host are included too, if you want a voice besides your own.

Other horror and survival games on the same setup

Once FNAF is working, the same dashboard and gift map pattern applies to other games. The Five Nights at Freddy's family has separate interactives for the sequels, and the rest of the catalog covers everything from Minecraft to Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install a mod to make FNAF interactive?
No. FNAF has no mod loader, and the TikPlays bridge does not install anything into the game. You run the bridge, paste in your dashboard API key and start a night. The bridge finds the running game by itself.
Can viewers do more than send gifts?
Yes. Follows, likes, shares and viewers joining the live can be mapped to any action, just like gifts. A common choice is to map follows to something small and friendly, like Restore power.
Will the trolls make the game unwinnable?
Every troll is a threat the game already has, so you can beat it the game's way: check the lights, shut the door in time and watch Pirate Cove. The exceptions are the actions you choose to map, like Jumpscare (game over), which ends the night. Leave those on expensive gifts or unmapped.
Do I need TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS?
TikPlays works alongside either one. You use your streaming software for the video, and TikPlays handles the game connection and overlays. Check TikTok's own LIVE settings to confirm what your account can use, since requirements vary by region and account.
Does this work for the other FNAF games?
There are separate interactives for Five Nights at Freddy's 2, 3 and 4 as well. This guide covers the original game, which you pick as FNAF 1 when you Connect on the dashboard.
