Geometry Dash on TikTok LIVE: gift ideas and what viewers can trigger
Map small gifts to small nudges, big gifts to run-ending chaos, and keep a few helpful gifts in the mix so chat never feels like it is only griefing you. With TikPlays and the Geode mod, viewers can trigger 21 actions in Geometry Dash while you play.
Why Geometry Dash works well for gift interaction
Geometry Dash is one button and a lot of tension. That makes it easy for viewers to follow and easy for them to mess with. A single flipped gravity at the wrong moment is funny to everyone watching, including you after the swearing stops.
Attempts are short, so a gift lands and pays off within seconds. Viewers see the result on screen right away, which is what keeps them sending more.
How the TikPlays mod works
TikPlays uses a Geode mod on the Steam build of Geometry Dash. The mod connects your attempt to your TikTok LIVE and polls for whatever your viewers have just bought. Nothing touches the official servers and nothing is submitted, so progress made with the mod running stays local to your game.
Setup is three steps:
- Install Geode for Geometry Dash, then drop the TikPlays mod into Geode's mods folder.
- Paste your dashboard API key into the mod's settings, in-game.
- Map gifts to actions on the TikPlays dashboard, pick a level and go live.
The mod works alongside TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS, and there is no port forwarding. Whether you can go LIVE at all depends on your region and account, so check TikTok's own LIVE settings.
Start with the mix: helpful, harmful, and a gamble
The game has 10 helpful actions, 10 harmful ones and one gamble, Spin the wheel. A good mapping is not all chaos. If every gift hurts you, chat learns that gifting means watching you fail, and the mood turns sour fast.
A rough starting split is about half harm, a third help, and one or two gamble or utility gifts. Viewers who want you to win need a way to spend a gift too. Those helpful gifts also become the reason to send a cleanse when things get out of hand.
- Help: keeps a run alive, so it feels like rescuing you.
- Harm: creates the moments people clip.
- Gamble: lets a small gift feel like a lottery ticket.
Pacing cheap gifts versus big gifts
Put effects you can survive on the cheapest gifts. Mini mode, slow motion, a zoomed-out camera, hitboxes shown, the background calmed or a checkpoint dropped are all low stakes. Viewers can send a few in a row without ending your attempt, and that volume is what fills the stream.
Save the run-enders for the top of your gift list. Instant death and Back to the start (a restart to 0%) should cost the most, because they reset your progress. If you make them cheap, a level with a two-minute run may never get past the first quarter.
Middle-tier gifts suit effects that hurt but are survivable: Giant mode, Fast forward, Flip gravity, Camera slam, Blackout and Upside-down screen. Landing a run through one of these is the highlight of the stream.
I would map at least one cheap gift to Spin the wheel. It reads as a mystery, so people send it just to see what happens.

Helpful effects worth mapping
Extra lives are the fairest way to reward a big gifter. They bank lives that resume from where you died, so a gift buys you another try instead of undoing your work. Invincible swallows deaths for a while, which makes a good mid-tier reward and a great tool for the hardest section of a level.
Drop a checkpoint places a practice checkpoint on the spot, which is handy right before something nasty. Skip ahead warps you forward through the level and is the closest thing to a loud, rewarding moment on the helpful side. Show hitboxes and Zoom out help you read what is killing you.
Clear all effects is a cleanse that wipes everything working against you. Keep it at a price that feels fair. Too cheap and it cancels every harmful gift, too expensive and chat feels stuck with a blackout.
The full list of actions
Here is every action viewers can trigger. You choose which gift fires which one, and you can leave any of them unmapped. Read through it and mark the ones that fit your level and your audience before you touch the dashboard.
Fun combos that make chat want to send more
Combos happen when several viewers gift close together, and they are where the best clips come from. Some pairs work better than others.
Keep the run-enders safe first. Instant death and Back to the start have a grace period, so they cannot land on an attempt that is a frame old. You can also switch them off entirely from the dashboard without unmapping the gift, which is useful for a first stream or a long level.
- Upside-down screen plus Inverted controls: the classic. Holding is releasing, and the screen is wrong too.
- Blackout plus Fast forward: you play from memory at the wrong speed.
- Giant mode plus Flip gravity: the icon no longer fits the gaps, then the gaps move.
- Jump spam plus Mini mode: the button is mashed for you, but a tiny icon may just survive.
- Camera slam followed by Zoom out: chat hurts you and then helps within a minute, which viewers enjoy.
If you want a fun rule, let a helpful gift answer a harmful one within a few seconds. It keeps both sides of chat gifting.
Extras to run alongside
Gift mapping is only part of the stream. TikPlays also includes goal bars, top-gifter and chat overlays, Spotify song requests and a giveaway wheel, all pasted in as browser sources.
The Windows desktop app can read gifts and chat aloud, so viewers hear their name when they wreck your run.
